It Was 25 Years Ago Today - Yeah Yeah Yeah!

On April 17, 1981, Yeah Yeah Yeah appeared at The Aspen Mine Company on College Avenue near San Diego State. Diehard fans Lisa and Kay surprised the band by renting a video camera to tape the show. This was a new thing - no one had their own video cameras yet!

They recorded all four 45-minute sets - on a VHS tape at LP speed - the slowest, and lowest quality. The camera had major burn-in and ghosting, and everything had a green hue. The sound off the camera microphone was - well - limited...

Finally, 25 years later, Joe comes up with a screaming computer with a video capture card - the tape, amazingly, hasn't self-destructed yet - and in digital form, quite remarkable corrections can be made!

So today (May, 2006), this is my project - to make a DVD of the show to capture the memories of what was certainly one of the highlights of my life. And to figure out Adobe Premiere in the process...
